Bangkok Temples
Bangkok has temples throughout the city. Most Bangkok temples are somewhat ordinary, but are still an important part of communal life in Thailand. There are a few important temples which are very significant landmarks and places of worship. Your Bangkok itinerary should include a visit to at least one of the following temples. Your trip to Thailand will not be complete until you visit a Bangkok temple.
The Bangkok Grand Palace and Wat Phra Gaew
The Bangkok Grand Palace is open every day from 8:30am to 3:30pm, unless it's being used for a state function. If you only have time for one tour while in Bangkok, make sure you do this one. The Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha are very important to Thai people. It is a privilege to view this piece of history in Thailand.
Wat Pho
Wat Pho has more than 1000 Buddha images within its walls, but is famous for the huge reclining Buddha housed in the temple.
Wat Arun
Wat Arun, or the Temple of Dawn, is one of the most published images in Bangkok. Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya river, Wat Arun is an excellent example of Khmer and Thai architecture.
