Don Muang Airport

Don Muang AirportUntil September 28, 2006, Don Muang was known as Bangkok International Airport.  It carried the well known airport code, BKK.  With the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport, on the aforementioned date, Don Muang was closed down and all air traffic to and from Bangkok was routed through Suvarnabhumi.  Suvarnabhumi became the new Bangkok International Airport and took over use of the BKK code.

However, soon after being closed down, Don Muang was re-opened to handle a majority of Thailand's domestic air traffic and given the airport code, DMK.  Currently, Thai Air, Nok Air and One Two Go airlines operate flights from Don Muang.
