The central area of Khao Yai national park is a tropical evergreen forest. There are over 2000 species of plants in this area. With such a wide variety of plants, there is always something new to discover at Khao Yai national park.
Besides the diverse plant life, Khao Yai national park, Thailand, also has its share of animal life. A quiet walk through the park provides the opportunity to see over 70 species of mammals. Although they are very good at hiding when people are around.
It may be easier to see and hear many of the birds in the park, as over 320 species have been recorded to date. If you have an interest in identifying any of the birds during your walk through Khao Yai national park, make sure to bring your binoculars and a good bird guide.
If you are up to the challenge, rent a car and drive to Khao Yai national park, Thailand. It is about a three hour drive from Bangkok. When you rent a car, ask for a map of Bangkok with directons to Khao Yai National Park. If this is your first trip to Thailand, I recommend you book a tour and let an experienced Bangkok driver get you and your family to the park.
