Siam Park

Siam Park EntranceSiam Park, or Suan Sayam as it is known in Thailand, is an excellent place to beat the heat while in Bangkok.  The only problem is that everyone else thinks so, too.  Which means Siam park tends to be very crowded on weekends and holidays.  So if you go, make sure you go on a weekday.

Siam Park is home to Siam water park. The main attraction at Siam water park is a giant wave pool. Besides the wave pool, they have a huge speed slide, a towering three storey spiral slide and river pool. There is plenty of water to keep yourself cool all day long.

Siam Park has a variety of world class rides, including several rollercoasters. The recently added Vortex is a suspended looping coaster which reaches a height of 105 feet and speeds of 50 miles per hour. Besides the coasters there is a free fall ride which drops the riders from a height of almost 250 feet. Be sure to ride up Siam Tower for a view of the park from 325 feet in the air. There are plenty of rides for younger children, too.

Siam park has several more forms of entertainment for your family. The Great China wax museum shares China's history in unique way. If you like history, you will also enjoy the Jurasic Adventure and Dinotopia as well.

Siam park has plenty of restaurants with a variety of food and drink to keep you going all day long. Just incase you forget your swim suit, Siam water park rents swimwear, rubber tubes and beach chairs for the day.

Siam park offers several admission plans for your family.

General admission (includes access to all water rides) is 200 baht for adults, 100 baht for children and babies are free.  As with many attractions in Thailand, adults and children are not determined by age, but by height.

Ride tickets can be purchased separately or an all day pass for all the rides can be purchased for 600 baht.  Quite a bargain when single tickets for the Vortex cost 300 baht a piece.

Siam park is open from 10 am to 6 pm everyday.

How to get there.

Most taxis will take you to Siam Park, but at the end of the day it may be difficult to find a taxi for the ride back to your hotel. If you are unfamiliar with Bangkok, it may be best to arrange transportation through your hotel. If this is not your first family vacation in Bangkok, why not rent a car and drive to Siam water park with your family.

Several buses stop at the entrance to the park. Buses no. 60, 71, 96, and 115; Air conditioned buses 168 and 519; Micro buses 8 and 17
